How do I scan my meals?

Tap the camera button on the home screen to take a photo of your meal, or select an image from your gallery. Our AI (powered by OpenAI GPT-4 Vision) will automatically identify food items and estimate calories, protein, carbs, and fats. You can choose the meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) before scanning.

How accurate is the AI calorie tracking?

Our AI provides reliable estimates for most common foods. Accuracy may vary based on portion size, preparation method, and specific ingredients or brands. For best results: ensure good lighting, capture the entire plate clearly, and use the 'Fix with AI' feature to adjust if the initial analysis seems off. You can also manually edit any food entry.

Can I sync my data across devices?

Yes! Sign in with your Google or Apple account to sync your food logs, weight history, water intake, and preferences across all your devices seamlessly. Your data is stored securely on our cloud servers (Supabase) with encryption.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Go to Settings โ†’ your Apple ID/Google account โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ kCal AI โ†’ Cancel. Your premium features will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

How does health data integration work?

kCal AI can read your steps, sleep duration, workouts, and burned calories from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android). Grant permission in the app settings. This data is displayed alongside your nutrition tracking for a complete health overview. Health data is never shared with third parties.

How do I track my water intake?

Use the water tracking widget on the home screen to log your daily water consumption. You can set custom water reminders during onboarding or in the app settings to stay hydrated throughout the day.

How do I track my weight progress?

Navigate to the weight tracking section to log your current weight. You can view your weight history chart, see progress towards your target weight, and even take comparison photos. Weight entries are synced across devices when signed in.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the app's Settings page. This will permanently remove all your personal data, food logs, weight history, and meal images from our servers within 30 days. Remember to cancel any active subscriptions separately through the App Store or Google Play.
